A guide to tournament formats

An Arena runs for a fixed period, with players returning to the pairing pool after each game. Standings can change as games finish.

A Swiss tournament uses a fixed number of rounds and pairs players with similar scores where possible. Check the board size, clock and rating band before joining. Daily knockout events are planned for a later release.
